This comes just as the Duante Wright shooting took place where a female cop shot a suspect who was resisting arrest and fleeing in his car as she thought she had her taser and used her gun instead. Now we have this.
His story made national headlines in 2017 as BLM was still in it’s strong growth. This now retired cop shot an unarmed man in a hotel hallway who was on his knees begging for his life. He was somehow acquitted of murder.
Now he’s 28 years old and is filing for retirement from the police force to pay him $2,500+ a month for the remainder of his life claiming the incident has caused him PTSD and he is unable to work.
This is what’s wrong with the police. The “back the blue” campaign has had major hits to it with the terrible cops that give the rest a bad name. We feel for the police as they have to deal with terrible people and terrible situations day in and day out.
Dealing with people on their worst days all the time while expecting them to be at their best 100% of the time. We understand that it is impossible to do that, yet we still expect it. We don’t have the answers, but we also know that what we currently have is broken.
