Disneyland California has been mostly closed for an entire year at this point. They are working are hard as they can to be able to reopen. Their US counterpart – Disney World in Florida has already been opened and running largely without any problems. Families all over the country are taking advantage of Florida’s lax rules and visiting the state and Disney World while the rest of the country, and California remains locked down.

Despite these measures, turns out the infection rates and deaths between Florida and California appear to be roughly the same. Many see that as no matter what mandates we followed, the ‘virus was going to be a and do what the virus is going to do’. Still, at this point Disneyland and California are still closed.

In order to help speed up the process of getting California to reopen, and political pressure on Newsom to resign as California Governor, Disneyland has agreed to his new rules for theme parks. These new rules were made up in California to help limit the spread of COVID, and are ridiculous. We get it, technically it will help. At the same time, so will staying home. When are we going to let people be people again?

As for now anyone planning to attend Disneyland when they do reopen will have to follow the new rule of “no screaming” on roller coasters. Just suck in that fear and be brave! May the force be with you and the odds be ever in your favor.
