Tax The RICH! But Not Politicians

Rank Hypocrisy at the Met Gala

Monday night saw the annual Met Gala take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. With many A-list celebrities in attendance, the night wasn’t complete without a bit of embarrassing and virtue-signaling liberal activism.

Taking the biscuit by far was Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), the self-proclaimed champion of America’s working class, who turned up to the event wearing a white $30,000 Brother Vellies dress with the words ‘tax the rich’ imprinted on the back. This was done while hanging out with wealthy elites at event which costs $30,000 for a ticket.

The event, as with all A-lister events, was packed with left wing virtue-signalers who are unaware of what the word ‘hypocrisy’ means. They are prepared to lecture normal everyday Americans on what is right and what is wrong, while continuing to do what they tell you is wrong.

Take AOC as an example, in March she tweeted saying, “Repealing the mask mandate [in Texas] now endangers so many people, especially essential workers & the vulnerable.” She even bragged that she would keep wearing a mask despite being fully vaccinated regardless of any mandates.

As with all leftwing virtue-signaling elites, since her comments she has done the complete opposite of what she previously said and was seen in May mixing with activists maskless until she realized there was a photo being taken and decided to put her mask on, as well as being maskless at the Met Gala. AOC simply wants to look like a morally supreme individual so she can have the right to lecture everybody else on what to do.

What caught the eye was not just AOC’s rank hypocrisy over masks and ‘taxing the rich’ while hanging out with them all at an elite event, it was also the fact that NONE of the elite A-list guests were wearing masks. This was while those photographed behind them (presumably attendees to the guests) were ALL wearing masks.

The pandemic doesn’t affect you if you’re wealthy but if you’re working or middle class then it does? That’s a funny one but shouldn’t come as a surprise to those who have been watching as the pandemic has become highly politicized.
